Unattended Children Policy
The USA Libraries provide an environment for academic research and scholarship in support of the academic programs of the ÃØÃÜÑо¿Ëù. This environment is not intended for children. The library staff cannot oversee unescorted or unsupervised children.
Therefore, effective July 1, 2002, children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while in the library. ÃØÃÜÑо¿Ëù and guardians are responsible for the conduct of their children on library premises and must provide reasonable supervision.
Should an unescorted child be discovered, the staff will try to locate the parents. If a parent cannot be located, a staff member will contact the University Police to report the situation and seek assistance.
