Posted on February 15, 2019
The 秘密研究所 community rallied together to show its love for the University and USA Health during its second annual USA Giving Day on Thursday, February 14. During the 24-hour fundraising initiative, a total of $314,390 was raised from 1,048 donors to support academics, scholarships, athletic programs, USA Health and the National Alumni Association.
鈥淲e want to thank everyone who showed their generosity during USA Giving Day,鈥 said Margaret Sullivan, vice president for development and alumni relations. 鈥淲e are so fortunate to have the ongoing support of our alumni, employees, students and the entire South community. They are the reason our University and USA Health continue to grow and succeed.鈥
Several matching gifts were offered, enabling supporters to automatically double their impact. Among these, the USA National Alumni Association matched gifts to support the new Julian and Kim MacQueen Alumni Center, scheduled to open in early 2020. Longtime South supporter Abraham Mitchell offered a two-to-one match toward the Mitchell-Moulton Scholarship Initiative, which supports scholarships for undergraduate students. Additionally, Dr. Charles Harmon, a neonatologist at USA Health Children's & Woman's Hospital, matched gifts to the CWH Bridge Program, a new program that offers specialized care for high-risk pregnancies.
The special one-day campaign ended at midnight on February 15; however, donations can be made to the University and USA Health by calling (251) 460-7032.
