Awards Luncheon Recognizes Student Organizations

Each year, students from more than 200 clubs and organizations at the University of South Alabama plan and coordinate efforts to support the local community. The Office of Student Activities recently held its Student Organization Leadership Awards luncheon to honor and showcase the outstanding campus and community service projects completed for the academic year.
鈥淓ach year, our students create innovative ways to serve our community,鈥 said Brigette Soderlind, assistant director of student activities at South. 鈥淲e congratulate all of the students for their hard and tireless efforts to make our community a better place to live.鈥
The 2017 Award Recipients:
- Program of the Year 鈥 Indian Student Association, Holi Festival of Colors
- Emerging Leader of the Year 鈥 Lyndsie Rhoden, First Year Council
- Outstanding Student Leader of the Year 鈥 Allyson Heng, Alpha Epsilon Delta
- Graduate Student Organization of the Year 鈥揝tudent-Run Free Clinic
- Student Organization of the Year 鈥 Animal Rights Alliance
The mission of USA Student Activities is to connect students with organizations, services and programs that will enhance their interests and passions while complimenting academic development.
USA Student Activities encourages both individual and group experiences that foster interpersonal relationships, promote the diversity of practical and useful skills, and enhance the academic learning environment. The office values experiences that inspire leadership, cultivate diversity, encourage campus and community engagement and clarify individual values for all South Alabama students.
