Feature Twirler Auditions Being Accepted for the 2025 JMB Season

Position: Feature Twirler, ÃØÃÜÑо¿Ëù Jaguar Marching Band
Position Begins: Fall 2025
Scholarship: $7500 – can be stacked with other academic scholarships

The ÃØÃÜÑо¿Ëù Jaguar Marching Band is now accepting applications for feature twirler beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. The successful candidate must exhibit superior twirling abilities, perform as a first-class ambassador for the ÃØÃÜÑо¿Ëù, and be able to maintain excellent academic credentials throughout their career on campus. The Jaguar Marching Band will plan to accept applications on a yearly basis, with the intent to maintain between 1 - 3 feature twirlers on any given year. The feature twirlers selected will receive a $7500 scholarship - renewable for up to four years of service to the Jaguar Marching Band if the candidate meets the scholarship’s requirements. The $7500.00 scholarship award is stackable with other academic scholarships. In addition, all equipment, uniforms, and travel are paid for by the ÃØÃÜÑо¿Ëù Jaguar Marching Band.
Candidates MUST be fully admitted to the ÃØÃÜÑо¿Ëù in order to be considered as a finalist for the position. Applicants must submit a cover letter, two letters of recommendation, resume/portfolio of your twirling and academic accomplishments, and a video of themselves performing a solo routine. The solo routine may be from 90 seconds to 2.5 minutes long. This routine should be the first item on the video. In addition, the video compilation may include other examples of the applicant's competitive twirling appearances, as well as any solo, duet, and parade performances they have given. The entire video compilation should not exceed 5 minutes.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a four turn, one-spin illusion, 2 and 3 baton work, and multiple leaps. Applicants should also be able to show the ability to travel across a large area, flexibility, and showmanship.
All submissions must be received by December 31, 2024.

About the Jaguar Marching Band
The ÃØÃÜÑо¿Ëù Jaguar Marching Band is an ensemble of over 250 select musicians, color guard, and feature twirlers. The Jaguar Marching Band serves as an ambassador for the University, the soundtrack for USA Football, and a touchstone for Jaguar fans and alumni. The JMB has been featured in local, regional and national performances in its 15 year history.
The band is under the direction of Dr. Robert Abend (Director of Athletic Bands), assisted by Dr. William Petersen (Director of Bands) Assistant Director of Bands is Dr. Clayton Maddox. The Jaguar Marching Band Twirler Coach is Ms. Michaela Rader.
